Shelter Island is accessible by car ferry. The ride is 5-10 minutes and runs continuously throughout the day.

The ferry is extremely easy to navigate, and a lovely ride! The only peccadillo is that it is cash only! They charge for the car and passengers other than the driver. They will collect the fare on the boat and give you an exact amount, however it is also available on their website.

If you would like to take a bus or train, the Hampton Jitney and LIRR both run to Greenport. The ferry accepts walk on passengers, and the Pridwin will provide transport from the ferry to the hotel.
