Not at all, and unclear!
There are usually a few cars waiting for the next ferry, so just make sure to line up behind them and follow them on. An attendant will wave you on and hold up fingers (1-4) telling you which lane to enter. A different attendant will wave you forward, but if there isn't one on hand stopping 1' behind the person in front of you is a safe bet.
You can sit in the car for the ride (unless you want to get out and enjoy the view!) - the attendant will come by for cash and give you a receipt. If you have forgotten cash there is an ATM at the ferry terminal on Shelter Island, but try not to - they will be annoyed!
One of the main reasons we chose the Pridwin is that their weddings offer full occupancy of the hotel for the weekend. We are hoping to spend the weekend with the people we love, milling around, enjoying the view, and generally having a good time. We hope you can join us for Friday and Saturday night at the Pridwin!
If you would like to stay elsewhere we completely understand, however we will not be offering a shuttle from any additional hotels in the area. Cabs are available and can easily be arranged through the Pridwin, and parking is available at the Pridwin.
UPDATE: We will be offering on demand transportation to and from Seven Shelter Island and Shelter Island House for guests staying there. They are both a three-minute drive up the street.
Kids are welcome for the weekend if you would like to explore Shelter Island as a family.
We won't have a "kids table" at the wedding, but the Pridwin has several lounge rooms off the main restaurant. We will be setting one of the rooms up with chicken fingers, activities, and movies for kids under 10 to hang out during dinner - we think they will have more fun this way!
You are also welcome to hire a babysitter for the evening, we will have some recommendations as well.
If you are bringing your kids for the weekend please remind us of their names and ages in your RSVP.
