Things to Do

Things to do around the Pridwin

The pool will be open and heated for the weekend, and the hotel is on the beach of the Peconic Bay (warm, no surf). Bring a swimsuit and hopefully the weather cooperates!

The Pridwin has several lawn games that will be set up throughout the weekend. Play cornhole, giant connect four, or read a book in the Adirondack Chairs and enjoy the view.

The Pridwin has a full spa! Feel free to book services directly through the Hotel.

Things to do around shelter island

Check out Dering Harbor. This small main street has several cute shops and a lovely view of Dering Harbor, just 5 minutes from the Pridwin by car. Grab a lemonade, sandwich, or coffee at Marie Eiffel and sit on the back deck overlooking the water.

Visit The Mashomack Nature Preserve, which has miles of open walking trails through Shelter Island's coastline. See more info and download the trail map here.

Go antiquing. Shelter Island has lots of vintage & antique stores as well as lots of weekend estate sales. Look out for signs on the road and check out Black Cat Books, Dworkin & Daughter, and Marika's.

Take a walk through Sylvester Farm and stop by the farmstand for snacks. Get more information here, and check back for scheduled events the weekend of the 28th.

Things to do further afield

Greenport is right on the other side of the North Ferry, and full of boutiques, diners, antique stores, and quirky Victorian architecture. Make sure to stop at Little Creek Oysters for a dozen and a beer! (20-25 min from The Pridwin)

Sag Harbor is on the other side of the South Ferry, and full of designer and independent boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants. (40-45 min from The Pridwin)
